McCallum Trail to Simone Pond

Try this 1.8-mile out-and-back trail in the Coachella Valley Preserve. Generally considered an easy route and a fun

way to begin your morning. We will visit Simone Pond (only open on weekends). Optional add on – the Visitor

Center at the Preserve to a short, but steep hike up Mumavet Hill with beautiful views! Many rare and listed species

use these habitats. Perhaps see a Swainson’s Hawk and the cool, bright blue desert pupfish. The critically endangered

desert pupfish inhabits the newly restored Pond.
